RATING:2+ temple, 3 neighboring water fountain show at night.
1 – Avoid,2 – OK if nothing better to do, 3 – Worth seeing,4 – Worth special trip, 5 – DO NOT MISS!
DESCRIPTION:One of the sights you will see in almost any Chinese city is a large multi-storied pagoda. This is the one in Xi’an and is a working Buddhist temple. The grounds are well kept and it is a pleasant stroll on a nice day but other than climbing the Pagoda, there is not much to see or do aside from watching the practicing monks.
OTHER COMMENTS: The Pagoda borders a huge city square that has many shops and amusements along its sides. It is much larger than the Pagoda site and well worth visiting. In the center of the park running from one end to the other is what is perhaps the world’s largest water fountain show. At night, with lights and music the fountains come alive to create a fountain show that is definitely world-class.
